How To Measure Your Door Opening- 60″ x 72″ Wood Replacement Shed Doors

To find out if our doors will fit your shed, measure using this guide.

VERTICAL MEASUREMENT

Measure the vertical door opening from the bottom of the door header, that’s the  piece of wood at the top of your door opening, to the floor. If you have a threshold guard on your floor, measure to that.

Our standard doors need a vertical rough opening of 70-1/4″. If your measurement is more, our doors will not properly fit your shed.

If your vertical rough opening is less then 70-1/4″, order the custom set of doors and email us your door opening measurements after you place your order and we will build the proper size door for you.

HORIZONTAL MEASUREMENT

Measure your horizontal opening from one side door frame to the other side. Your opening will probably be framed with a single or double, 2×4″, 2×3″ or 2×2″.  Some sheds may not have a stud at the end of the wall. In this case, for proper fit of your doors, you’ll need a stud installed. Measure the size needed, cut the stud and toe nail it in and you’ll be ready for our doors.

Our standard doors need a horizontal rough opening width of 59-3/4″. If your measurement is more, our doors will not properly fit your shed.

If your horizontal measurement is less then 59-3/4″, order the custom door and email us your door opening measurements after you place your order and we will build the proper size door for you

  1. I’m looking to replace a rotted door for my Durashed shed. I measured the opening (from interior stud to interior stud) as 60.5 inches wide. THe height (from the floor to the bottom of the header is 68.5″. These seem close to the size of the 60X72 Replacement doors you sell, but not exactly. I’m concerned about the width, as my 60.5″ opening is wider than the 59.75 described in the sizing guide.

Will your doors fit this opening?
